Sprouts was born in 2011 at the dining room table of a yellow house, when two best friends were trying to figure out what the "sprouty" thing on top of a pineapple was called and how they could change the way that kids experienced learning.
Sprouts started out as a tutoring program and Kid's Night Out spot, while Carolyn and Kelly continued to teach for Guilford County. That next fall they resigned from their teaching positions (much to the chagrin of their parents) and started Sprouts Preschool and Afterschool Programs.
Sprouts started out humbly, with 8 after schoolers, 7 preschoolers, an old bus and a lot of hope; but it has grown to serve hundreds of children in its programs each year.
Sprouts is a place where friends feel like family and everyone cares for one another.
